About us

We, Svante and Pi-Charlotte Strindberg have regularly travelled to Nepal since 1994. Initially we went there to hike, but a great love for the majestic countryside and its people started to grow and with it a desire to help these fantastic and poor people. Through our Nepalese friend Madhab Lal Maharjan, who owns a bookstore in Kathmandu, we found a way to contribute to the country and its people.

We have commetted ourselves to sponsor Nepalese girls for a minimum of three years. (This project started in the Spring 2005). The girls who were first sponsored were Bhavika, Meena and Rumi. We pay their school fees and for their uniforms and some extra courses between the terms (i.e. computer or English courses). Our sponsoring does not cover costs for food or school materials. Since the start of the project, another seventeen girls have been included in the project.

Our intention is to continue visiting Nepal in the future, both to hike and to meet with our sponsored girls.
